  2. I really enjoyed this episode, particularly the Microsoft discussion.

    If you haven’t seen it already, watch Ballmer’s 10/21/14 interview on Charlie Rose. You really get the sense that he was letting Apple envy lead him into a strategy which would ultimately disintermediate the hardware partners. Since it’s well known that Satya Nadella was against the acquisition of Nokia, it’s likely that he never shared Ballmer’s vision, and he’s just riding out the tail end of a failed strategy.
